So, I’ve been working on Rock Crusher since 1 Jan this year, and the demo has just been out on 24 Feb, right before the Steam Next Fest. It is one of the incremental game with a huge skill tree and you play with many (many) short sessions. I want to keep scope of this project small, but I have history of failing to do that. This one is still in control for now though.
About promotion, I plan to only send emails to YouTuber once the game is about to release. Not very proud of the current state of the demo. But I got lucky, the demo got covered by a couple YouTubers, one of them is Wanderbots, who also has 2 videos of Towerful Defense: A Rogue TD. That’s sweet!
I also posted to r/incremental_games , in fact, right after the demo release. Got so many negative feedback about the control initially. And now, looking back, thank to those early feedback and…my willingness to change (I hesitated at first) that the demo got covered. Idle cub even mentioned that he played the demo right after its release but closed after a few minutes, only made the video a few days later when the control was fixed.
Not a bad start after all. Now I’m going back to preparing for Towerful Defense’s Daily Deal which happens in a few days (and Steam has just decide now there are 6 Daily Deal spots per day instead of 4 😔).
